HON AJALA DELIVERS SPEECH AT THE LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT EDUCATION DISTRICT 6 ANNUAL MERIT AWARD CEREMONY, CHARGES THE TEACHERS TO STRIVE FOR GREATNESS.

Executive Chairman Odi-olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Olusola Ajala yesterday delivered a speech at the annual merit award ceremony organized by the Lagos state Education District 6 at Oregun Senior High School in Ikeja.
In his speech, he said: "The award was to honoured and appreciate our Principals, Vice Principals, Teachers and the Students, individually and collectively towards actualising the government's vision on Education. He said:" For us to achieve greatness, education is the major factor that can play a catalyst factor toward the realisation of the goal.
He continued: " For our country to take rightful position in the global map, all the stakeholders have roles to play.
He said: "Education is not only about mental development, it involved all round development, physical, moral, social and emotional development.
He said, he trusted those who are there now to have all it takes to take our education to greater height where students in the public schools will be able to compete favorably with their counterparts in the private schools.
He said:" Lagos state government has invested heavily on education by providing funds for rehabilitation of dilapidated structures in our schools.
He said: "Local government have also key in to the Agenda of the state in the area of providing qualitative Education to our students.
He advised those who were not among the awardee to strive to win in the next edition of the ceremony. He thanked the District for honouring him by making him the chairman of the event particularly the team that organized the program.
The highlight of the program was the presentation of the awards to various categories of winners in the senior and the junior categories.
Best principal of the senior category went to Mr Adeoye Adebowale of the Ilupeju senior Secondary school. The first runners up was Mrs Omosure Folake Aishat of Metropolitan College, Isolo while Mrs Toyin Kuti from Oregun Senior high school came third.
